Meh, they're ok, wouldn't go as far as "amazing". But if someone like's one particular store over another, C'est la vie.

I've actually surprised myself with this one. I haven't seriously played a GT game since the original on the psone, I kept thinking this game will be too hardcore for me, but since firing it up I find I keep wanting to go back and do another series, or just one more race.
I also spent way too much money doing up one car for a single series....
I won though.

KLast 2 posts = lame.
I may get this game patched up and give it a shot with me steering wheel. The AI in Forza 3 are giving me the shits, what with the constant ramming in my arse from them causing me to go off track. Funny how if I nudge them on accident though I still go careening off track.

Last patch is so good, it's incredible how these guys just keep on improving on perfection. It's like with every patch they give perfection a new meaning, because before the patch the game was perfect, but then after the patch it's even better! Real life looks like a 64 game these days because GT5 just looks so much better.

Finally got an x1, threw a few bspec guys in the 24 hour endurance at Sarthe. Not even 12 hours in and these guys are over 60 laps ahead.
First time I've seen Sarthe at night too, it looks outstanding, wish I was there for the transition.

In the game's defence it was quicker to buy the car virtually then to actually buy it.
I'd probably be waiting till I'm 60 or so to afford such a luxury item...

The Skyline got a similar rep as a cheap first car that take players quite far into the game. FTR, my first GT5 car was the EK Civic Type-R.

06-03-2011, 01:34 AM
My first was the Suzuki Cappuccino EA21R, which is also one of my favourites. Lasted me until I could buy a 'Vette Stingray to grind cash on the World Classic Car Series.

So, with all this remote racing I've been doing with Super8, he's sitting on just over 500,000. He hasn't even logged back on yet either.
If you have me on PSN, set your drivers to "share online with friends" (or whatever the option is) and I'll add you to races too. We usually race with 10 empty spots.
Azzaman
07-03-2011, 06:02 PM
I have you on PSN right? I've set my driver to online, is there anything else you need from me to make me money?
JubeiSaotome
07-03-2011, 06:29 PM
Whenever you get up 5 Bspec levels, you can make another driver. The more drivers you have, the more I can add to races.
By the way it takes an hour or two for the website to update. So, as soon as it updates and I'm using it, I'll add people in (that have just added drivers online).

Yeah, they did, but then they realised that they were able to produce games that were better than real life so decided to go back to their own in house dev kits. And hey presto, 6 years later finally released the SNES version. Kaz is feeling pretty darn smug with himself.

I've changed my opinion on GT5. I give it zero out of ten.
You see the problem is that it's too good, it was ruining my life. I would get lost in it's worlds, it's cockpit views, the beauty of it's premium tracks as the wonderfully changed from night to day, from rain to shine. It wasn't like real life, it was better, and I was living in it.
But I had to stop, I had to pack away my wheel before I completely lost my grip on reality. So now I rate GT5 a zero out of ten for holding my life back for 4 months. I don't vividly remember a lot from those months, but what I do remember is the feel of the cars on the road, the victory, the heartbreak, the emotion, but I've put it all behind me, I chose life, and I'm moving forward with it.
So to the GT5 thread, goodnight sweet prince.

Couple of news bits from GTPlanet for any of you still playing the game (especially if you picked up one of the special editions from EB during their 48 Hours of Power sale).
The second issue (http://www.gtplanet.net/new-honda-civic-competition-seasonal-event-in-gt5/) of the community-written GT Life magazine is now available as a free download.
There's also a new online Seasonal Event (http://www.gtplanet.net/new-honda-civic-competition-seasonal-event-in-gt5/) featuring the Honda Civic that's good for over 1.5 million credits. In other news, the Seasonal Events beat the absolute shit out of the Career mode events for prize money versus time and pretty much eliminate any fears I originally had about career mode grinding.

Eurogamer has just announced new DLC (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-11-new-gran-turismo-5-dlc-announced) coming out next week. There'll be a new car pack with six cars and a Speed Test Pack that'll include a new oval and a performance measurement mode. Both packs will cost about 5 Euro or your local equivalent.
On top of that, the new 2.03 update goes live the same day, with various enhancements, new theme colours and wallpapers.
Also, the rumored "XL edition" is now totally official (http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-xl-officially-announced-with-reversible-spec-ii-box-art/).
