I know most people probably don't even care about this anymore but since the initial launch (which was about a year ago I think?) I decided to check up on it again after I heard there was a free apartment offer with the theme of FFXIII for a limited time, but then I found out its only for Japan's Home service. But I found a free treehouse apartment (yay..)

Anyway after so long its still in Beta, the character models still look like zombies (the X360 avatars have way more personality even though they are cartoonish) & its impossible to get something that looks good, the prices of objects & real estate are still way overpriced - are people even bothering paying up to $20 just to have a new outfit? The places have barely changed either and I'm surprised that Sony doesn't do a "freebie of the day" where an item that normally costs money is free for 1 day before the next offer starts - some kind of incentive to actually stay on there. And for god's sake, give us some rollerblades so we can get to places faster instead of a slow jog :p

I don't think Home will ever be a success unless Sony is willing to give it a total overhaul & make it more accessible

edit: Oh and lets not forget Home is still having weird connection errors when trying to login

I log into sometimes and play chess against this guy I know, then I strut around bumping into people. Might go check out this free treehouse.

I don't mind it, but there's no real reason to use it.

Home is Sony's pisspoor attempt to make a Second Life-like urr.... thing... on the PS3.
Doesn't matter, SL is horrible too

It's still light years better than Second Life.

****, Second Life must be abysmal then. I said Second Life, not Second's life. Though maybe both are true...

Second Life is full of sexual preditors. Home is too, most likely, but you can actually fill a room with flying dicks and so on. Also, lots of fetish "clubs" in game. I really don't know why the media jumped on it, they obviously never played the thing.

Second Life actually has content.
Sure a good 70% is horrible/weird stuff but it actually has constantly growing content.

Home you just.. umm... well...

Second Life actually lets its users make content, which is more than can be said for Home, which just tries to sell you all this "Sony lifestyle" crap.

Home will get a lot better once they kick their marketing guys off the project.

I hope Home never has user created content, because that's the root of Second Life's problems. Unless they've started moderating it.

The only home for a PS3 is in the bin.

True story I was at an education consultation with some education bureaucrats and some young people and the bureaucrats were talking about reforming Tasmania's education system and said something about using Second Life and every young person in the room sniggered.
