The closest thing you'll find to an interactive movie. Superb gameplay, the best graphics this side of Crysis along with an engaging set of characters. Brilliant.

Put there for a runners up at least. I've never had so much fun with a Superhero/villain game; that said it might have been mainstreamed, but you can't go wrong with that purchase.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
The best hacky-slashy game on the XBox 360 got an update for the PS3 that made it even better. While the ultraviolence was toned down a fair bit (this year's censorship climate would have made it a doubtful pass had it been kept), the gameplay was not, and it remained the same balls-hard ninja action game that everybody loved on the 360. Add in two new playable characters (including Ayane for the first time), some new levels and weapons, and you have the definitive version of the definitive action game.

Unlike other gamers I wasn't really wowed by Uncharted's story. I thought it contained more cliche and bland characterization that an episode of Home and Away, honestly when Generic Evil War Criminal Number 4 started pontificating about the morality of Hitler I was physically ill. However Uncharted was still an incredible feat of modern technology, amazing graphics and sound as well as gameplay that was as tight as it was enthralling.

inFamous was the best game on the PS3 for me during 2009. One of the most fun open world parkour games in quiet some time. The super powers made for awesome stunts and massive chaos. Whilst the way in which the storyline was told was a bit weak it was engaging nontheless.
