First!
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Arguably the best PSP exclusive ever. 1 out of 5 Japanese can't be wrong! ;)
Runners Up
GTA: Chinatown Wars
The drug dealing mini-game added so much to an otherwise enjoyable GTA game.
Resistance: Retribution
The PSP may have the worst control layout for shooters, but that didn't stop this game from being a compelling experience.

I have not played / not voting for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, just wanted to mention it, as it came out this year and maybe someone can mention whether it's any good, and someone might vote for it. It also came out on PS2.
THERE SHOULD BE A PS2 CATERGORY, sure there are only a handful of games, but including import games there is still some good stuff that came out for the old PS2 this year.
And I remember a certain magazine giving games GOTY nominations etc in other years that included import games

...
I don't get it. Why not list every PSP game released this year in case anyone wants to vote for it? :p
PSP sux
Whilst I don't go in for quite such insightful criticism, it has been a quiet year. Apart from a couple of $10 chuck out games, I don't think I bought anything on PSP this year (though I have used it to play FFVII and Metal Gear Solid). I did try the LBP demo, so I guess that.

Hey WhyMe, if you're gonna delete Concrete's post then you may as well delete this one too (http://www.hyper.com.au/forums/showpost.php?p=1153604&postcount=4). :p

Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo wins by default as it was the only PSP game I played all year. I gave up because of the atrocious load times, for a game touted on it's pick up and play functionality it took an appallingly long time to get from the menu to quick race. But you know, De Fault the two greatest words in the English dictionary.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
My most played PSP game ever. Although I have only played it for thirteen hours. I don't play my PSP much.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Great game, not sure if you'd technically call it a fighter, but nonetheless, just pips MH for my money.

Little Big Planet for me.
Very cute game. Made jumping and running fun again. Not to mention stickers.
Also, I got a free sackboy key ring with my copy. Yay!

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
Not a popular choice by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact that they ported a playable build of Assassin's Creed onto a portable system had enough novelty to last the 6 hours it took to finish the game. Plus the story was compelling enough to keep me going.

Final Fantasy Dissidia.
Revel in its giant swords and spiky hair! I'm 50 + hours in and still going strong.

Is it really that much better? Might have to give it a run...

It's the exact same game (apart from a few missions) but it looks so much better graphically, sounds better, cars are easier to control with the analogue nub, mini games don't lose anything by switching to buttons (and there's no continual switching of controls and stylus). The only downsides are loading times and the menu being a bit slower to navigate.

Yeah, it's easier to see how damaged your car is, there are radio stations to cycle through, and along with all the DS controls there's even a new ability to cycle targets by pressing left and right on the D-Pad (which still sucks, but at least they tried :p ).
