There used to be a thread, now it's gone...

... but this game is scheduled for a Q1 release. Anyone still looking forward to it?

looks interesting in an hugely nerdy way.

I read a couple of reviews (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/infinitespace) and it's sounding pretty good.

From the looks of things, it's basically a turn-based version of Sid Meier's Pirates, set in space, with Mass Effect's storyline. Me likey. :p

Being able to name your ships = so much win.

it's basically a turn-based

There goes the little interest I had in this.

It's a scientific fact that turn-based games are superior games

Think I made a post once about being excited by a strategic space opera but apprehensive about the cliché anime and gay themes about WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN

gay themes about WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN

Didn't Mass Effect have those kinds of themes? ;)

US release date has apparently been confirmed for March 16th.

This game is apparently out now in the US, and has a Metascore of 77 from four reviews.

You're not human without angst, did I mention the angst?

Interested on a technical level, will look in its genreal diretion to find out WTF this is down the line.

Says who? The reviews I've seen sound pretty darn positive. Maybe not 'spectacular', but still extremely solid and fun.

I ****ing called it.

When? :p

Try looking up some definitions for 'cliché' sometime. ;)

My mistake. I thought 'cliche' was only referring to the anime bit, not the themes. :p

I just err... Obtained it.

I'll give you my thoughts later.

Well hey I'll just give you a summary right now.

Looks alright, but it sounds like shit ("explosions" sound like a powerpoint sparking when someone puts a fork in it), the gameplay and story are obtuse as **** (although once you get past the fact that they just gave another name to every single thing you've seen in other games, you realise it's really quite shallow and simple), and I already hate the main character.

Perhaps it gets better later on, but I've played it for two hours and that's enough for me to conclude that I couldn't be bothered enduring it even if it does.

I played it for a couple of hours and I'm really enjoying it so far. Must be one of those love it or hate it things.

It really does remind me of Sid Meier's Pirates (without the absolute freedom), so I guess that helps because I loved that game. :p
