Had some mates over on the weekend for some drinkypoos and a wiimote has ended up being thrown into my 1 month old 42" Soniq LCD TV during a game of wii bowling as I tried to kick out my mates knee while he was taking his shot .

It looks a bit like this:

What can I do?

Direct from the Phillips website.

I cant give you any sensible solution to try out other than the one mentioned above.
You're friend is a fool and he should pay for all of the repairs btw.

I can't blame him as it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been mucking around.

I've searched around a bit online and it seems that it will cost more to replace than to repair. I'm covered by accidental damage on my home and contents insurance, but it might not be worth claiming it for only $900.

This is why there's warnings to use the strap . . . you realise this right?

I don't understand how kicking out a knee leads to flinging remotes.

I'm trying to understand the physics of this and drawing a blank.

MSPaint us a diagram.

As I was trying to kick out his knee his hand came down and hit my foot causing him to let go, obviously he is partly responsible, but I cbf trying to get money out of him, I just want my TV back.

Question. Why is it you say your television is a Soniq but that TV in the photo is clearly a Phillips? Oh and condolences friend, I have a ban on all Wiimotes surrounding my baby, the ban is helped by a complete lack of decent software for Wii. Good times.

The TV in the picture isn't my TV, that's just how the damage kind of looks.
