A PS2 basketball game that doesn't suck.

Hey. Trying to find a b'ball game for my 9 y.o nephew. So far tried NBA 2005 and NBA Street Vol3. Neither game is what Im looking for. NBA 2005 just plain sucked. NBA street vol.3 hardly resembles basketball.

SO please. A ps2 basketball game thats still good. Preferably something pre-owned and cheap. Any of the NBA 2k games is still okay? Cause Ive seen NBA 2k3, Nba2k4 and NBA2k5 all for $13 or less.

Can't go wrong with the 2K series...2k4 (ESPN NBA Basketball) was great

I bought NBA2k9 for the PS3 yesterday. Best $19 Ive spent all year. Preowned but blurays are so hard to scratch it might as well be new :) (tried the 2k10 demo on psn. Something didnt feel right so I went with teh much cheaper 2k9).

Yeah, I highly recommend the 2k series. Steer clear of the NBA Live series, they were all pretty terrible during the PS2's lifespan.
