Thread named shamelessly stolen from Reddit.

That's pretty god-damned impressive. I hope we don't have to wait until CS5 for it.
I can imagine in 10 years somebody complaining because "this photoshop will actually require my input!"

You've got to be kidding me!
So no release date or anything? I JUST bought CS4, I don't want to have to buy again :P.
EDIT: That last image edit is just bullshit.

If people are going to complain that I can't fool them after 12pm on April 1st then I sure as hell can't be pranked a week beforehand!

Seems like a larger scale automated version of the heal and clone tools.
I'd like to see them implement a super-resolution tool aswell.

You'll want to talk to this (http://www.anandtech.com/tradeshows/showdoc.aspx?i=2367&p=2) guy.
My jaw hit the ****ing floor when I saw that last edit.
Amazing

If image editing is getting the easy, I think I might actually be buying the next CS.

A colourblind fool like myself will be able to edit images now! :o

Only problem is now that we'll now have backyard image retouchers to go with our backyard web and print designers. People who "taught themselves Photoshop on Monday" (the exact statement I heard from a client) and call themselves a professional desinger with no knowledge of basic fundamentals.
While tools like this cut out a large chunk of time, you still need an eye for continuity within the image and will have to get in there and clean it up to appear seamless.

Not really, photo retouching is one of my less frequent tasks, and when it is required, its only for blemishes and colour problems, not replacing/removing large chunks of the image.

By all means, create half arsed photoshops with jarring transitions between original image and computer generated fill.
All I'm saying is if you want it too look good you will still have to know how to tidy it up. Don't get me wrong, this is a phenomenally powerful tool that cuts about a weeks work into 30 seconds, but its not a complete solution.

I'm going to point out this little turn of phrase right now, and hopefully you hate yourself for it:
'complete solution'
There you go.

Damn it Vin, I'm a Designer not an English professor. Hence why, I'm prone to the... occasional.... slip-up

Just be glad you're not arguing with him about how 3D works.

That's a amazing tool.
I hope they add a shortcut for the blur tool and let me be able to scroll click to close tabs.

My job is basically removing shit from the background of images. (school photos)
This tool could completely replace me!
That being said, it doesn't take that long to do it manually.

From the YouTube comments: "Any sufficiently advanced Photoshop feature is indistinguishable from magic."
Now, if only Adobe would stop charging daylight robbery for the damn program. :(

CS5 30 day trials are now available here (http://www.adobe.com/ap/downloads/).
I've been playing with Dreamweaver and Photoshop CS5 the last couple days and yes, they're great.
On a slightly related note, thank goodness for education pricing! I'm looking at less than $400 for the web premium pack of CS5, down from a whopping $3K! (even part time students can get it for around $800) The full RRP is absurdly high, not that I'm surprised of course.

You won't be able to upgrade a Student version to a Full Retail version though.
I downloaded the trial Photoshop for Mac last night. I don't recommend it yet. Still has bugs:
Unable to write preferences file.
Can not use the Save to Web feature due to a permissions problem.
There is no image scrolling acceleration when using the top surface of the Magic Mouse.
No GPU support.
