Has anyone updated their PS3s yet? I've read cases of bricking on other forums and wanted to see if this was happening to anyone here...

If this article is anything to go by (http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/04/22/ps3-update-bricking-consoles-3-beeps-no-green-power-light/) its a small minority that its affecting.

Well, there's that one, and a few other forums that have different issues with the update...

It better not brick mine! D: My 360 RRoD'ed yesterday and I'm relying on the PS3 to keep me occupied.

My PS3 has stopped connecting to the Internet so I'm trying to download the firmware to install via usb, but the au.playstation instructs people to go to eu.playstation to download it, but that automatically redirects back to au.playstation. FML.

I'm too scared to update mine. How long does it normally take for a new update to be released? I might just wait for the next one as I'm in no dire need to go online with my PS3.

With the new maps for MW2 being released Im only online on my Ps3.

Not another firmware issue! I haven't updated mine yet, may not either until I know for certain its safe - I can go without it for as long as it takes since I rarely actually go online nowadays

It forces you to update to go online, worked fine for me. I think this "error" was a few isolated incidents that on the internet always looks far worse than it really is.

It's good now. Majority of previous issues were temporary...

Got bored of not playing Bad Company 2 and downloaded patch. Didn't break PS3. Got 12 to 0 ratio.
