I loved the first 2 games and can't wait to play this 3rd one. It's setting is completely out of left field though. Looks pretty amazing in screenshots.

Eurogamer review is 3 pages, fortunately for you guys I'll summarize it.

Game is a superb however 2 points will be dducted from the final score as it is a PS3 exclusive. 8/10

Reminds me of the "Detonator" races in Split/Second where all the Power Plays are being activated as you race around the track. I enjoyed the last two games so I'd be happy to pick this one up as well.

Hey, I have a PS3 now! Pity that the physics in the previous games were shit. How hard is it to make the car actually feel like it's interacting with road?

That said, this looks fun and I'll definitely give it a go if there's a demo. Pity about the exclusivity, it'd be fun online.

Not a fan of the demo, think I'm just spoiled by GT, I thought the second Motor Storm was awesome.

Weird that they only give you a super car and a superbike, which felt exactly the same to me. If one was faster than the other I certainly couldn't tell...maybe if the game had some sort of speedometer.

The handling is...not shit. That's all I can say about it, because while not horrible it's certainly nothing to write home about. If it was in a jungle theme still then I might be interested, but the HO-SHIT-DYNAMIC-TRACK gimmick doesn't really fly with me. It was fun in Porsche Challenge, but when there's no map and the screen is shaking worse than an action scene in a Michael Bay movie, it just isn't fun. Will most likely pass.

What did you think of the game, Shorty?

I just gave it another go and I still don't like it. The track path seems completely linear apart from the occasional branch that's really more like a 2nd lane than a different route. So many times during that race there are parts that could easily be another route, but they aren't and you fall to your death or are respawned back to where they say the track is.

It's a bit rich to judge the game solely on this track, there are what over 40 tracks?

Sony Australia is attemping to halt any further distribution of Motorstorm Apocalypse out of respect for Japan (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/03/sony-australia-attempting-to-halt-motorstorm-apocalypse-distribution/)

Basically the initial shipment will have hit shelves, but they are trying to stop any further shipments due to themes and scenarios in the game that could be perceived as insensitive.

wtf mate?

Picked this up today because I wanted to trade in Mass Effect 2 while Game are offering good rates. I think the chick working there stuffed up, because I got it for $18 rather than $28. Probably won't get the chance to play it for a while though, as I'm currently on DA:O, then onto DA2...

There's a certain amount of tact here that makes it understandable. Although just very unfortunate coincidence, I could totally see how having copies of this game on store-front displays and such could be tasteless and offensive - even hurtful - to a number of people. It's a whole different scenario to being able to dig through shelf pockets for an already-released disaster movie or whatever.

Meanwhile, however, a racing game called Post Apocalyptic Mayhem came out on Steam last night -_-

Tact would be shelving whatever prominent marketing campaign they may have had going for this title. Pulling shipments of the game until further notice is a comparatively empty gesture. Or they could split the difference and donate, say, five bucks from each copy to the Red Cross. At least that would be actively doing some good.

I watch next to no TV, so I'm going to be totally in the cold as to if marketing is still happening or not. If it is, well, balls to that.

Got this the other day. Not the most highbrow game out there but it has been nice to get stuck into some vapid arcade racing action. The deforming tracks definitely add a good level of excitement to the proceedings.

It's not something i can play for a long stretch but in post work bite size chunks it's perfect.

However the x-games esque storyline and characters are so try hard they make Will Smith look like KRS1. I watched about 30 seconds of the first animated cut scene and haven't watched one since.
