The idea is if you find a cool show/movie in the TV guide and suddenly feel the need to tell your fellow hyperians about it, this is the place. Foxtel or Normal TV, it's all good. List your state so people know whether or not the show will be airing in their territory.

I'll start with a crappy example:

Tonight, 14th of October

Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo Channel 7, 9.45 (NSW)

If you want to be extra cool, you can write your own synopsis or quote the TV guide like me.
A dim-witted aquarium cleaner is forced to become a male gigolo to repay his debts after destroying a wealthy client's apartment.
So there you go. If you stay on topic this could prove to a good asset. Much like the indie thread is to me.

When I saw the thread title I was going to use Deuce as a good example. >_>

Modern day adaptations of Shakespeare's plays, this is I think the third of the series. (They've had Macbeth and Much Ado about Nothing, I think)

Well the episode was about a man stuck in a compromised sitcom which he hated. A bit of a stretch - but perhaps Gervais made the episode shit on purpose

Anyway. Episode 2 is a little better, but it wasn't until the BAFTA awards episode where I finally started to get that 'season 1 feeling'. The epsiode with Ricky taking the lead in a 'gay play' is also extremely well done (imo the highlight of season 2).

Soundtrack to War
Time: Wednesday, April 25, 12:30 AM
Channel: ABC
Duration: 100 minutes
Rating: M
Type: Documentary

The sound of war is not just guns and grenades. Australian war artist George Gittoes hits the streets of Baghdad to ask members of the US Army and Iraqi civilians, what tracks they would choose as their soundtrack to the war.
Format: Closed Captions, Repeat, Widescreen
Country: Australia

I saw this last time it was shown on ABC and it was pretty awesome, shows some country and metal at the start and gets into rap and hiphop towards the end.

I mentioned this in the TF movie thread, but the original series of The Transformers is on Boomerang weekdays at 7pm WA time, so 9pm everywhere else.

Also, Johnny Bravo has returned to television! Mon-Thurs on Boomerang at about 5pm (7pm). They're not new episodes, but that's good coz those newer episodes of JB sucked balls.

And if anyone's interested, there's a doco on ABC, Thursday 8:30pm (I think) about global warming and how it may not be true. It's like a rebuttal to Inconvenient Truth. Could be interesting.

Because Baghdatis was only at 70% fitness - if that? Hewitt played okay, but as soon as Baghdatis rolled his ankle (with break point) Hewitt should have wrapped it up quickly. Instead he dropped two breaks later in the fourth set and had to finish it off in the fifth.

Isn't that because the guy that the show is based on is yet to go to trial, and it's feared that it may sway the jury?

Essentially, yes. The show isn't based on just 1 guy, more the whole Melbourne underworld war. The main protagonists will be Carl Williams, Mark and Jason Moran, Alphonse Gangitano and Tony Mokbel (plus a whole host of others).

I actually thought it was being banned because of the upcoming Mokbel murder trials (he's still doing 1 year in Greece for passport fraud), but apparently this isn't the care. The article I read in the Age yesterday said it's not being shown due to the possibility of it influencing a current murder case of someone who is not named in the show, but who's victim is. This would rule out Mokbel (yet to go to trial for two murders, but owing nine years in Australia for drug trafficking) and Williams (who's cases are finished, I think).

Fairly sure they will, though I think there'll be a best of dvd for it coming out in a few months, so perhaps check with the sbs web site (if it's actually able to be navigated now).

Yeah, but Pearl Harbor does have Beckinsale...but I think Spirited Away wins out this time.

On a side note, there was a newspaper poll a couple weeks ago about TV in general, and SBS was voted one of the most useless channels. Seriously, people should just die.

The people that participated in that poll are idiots.

There's a cheesy HK movie on 11:50 SBS tonight. Called "The Duel". It's not really worth staying up for >_>. But if you are up past midnight tonight, it's better than watching those stupid late night gameshows. Also: Its main character is called "Simon Blow Snow"

The Herald Sun? The Daily Telegraph?

Would make perfect sense.

I've seen it before.
As IRS says, it's no One Armed Boxer vs Flying Guillotine, but far superior to anything else on at the time.

Sun-Herald, actually. Seems there's now zero reputable newspapers doing the rounds.

Mean Girls -

Girl 1: "I heard that Regina George's hair is insured for $10,000."
Girl 2: "Regina George is flawless."
Girl 3: "Regina George once punched me in the face. ... It was awesome."

Buy the ****ing DVD and stop watching it. If people don't keep watching it then it won't rate and they will... I dunno.... put something else on.

Stupid bloody TV stations. So many awesome films but they keep repeating the same ole drivel. I want to punch something.
