Im in Nepal.

**** me though, hearing about and seeing a third world country on TV doesn't prepare you for what its actually like being there. Poor as shit. Crowded as shit. Dirty as shit. God damn.

But, 5 days here and then the trek to base camp. Thats the mad part, and, you know, Nepal and all.

Dodge as room in the hotel as well, power keeps cutting to all the lights except one, and all the power points don't work when that happens. Pretty funny now, maybe not tomorrow when Ill need to charge my laptop again.

EDT:
Bonus points lol, did a mid semester exam last week completely blind. Did no study at all, was sick the week before so I didn't even read lecture notes or anything and came out with 84%. Second highest mark behind some douche that got 84.5%

Did the 160m bungee and canyon swing in Nepal today. IMO New Zealand is better, but still, jumping from a platform 160m in the air is awesome anywhere.

Shit part was that after you jumped, it was a good 30-40min hike to get back up. After doing it twice I swear to god I almost died. At least it felt like it. Luckily there were 4 ex-medics from the Israeli army, and 4 doctors from India/Pakistan who were also in the group and were telling me what to do lol.

Also, 2 smoking hot Danish chicks. Always a positive.

Positive: Going to get a shitload of money from the Government this year thanks to the carbon tax and the increased support for "working families".

I'm a young, white, single, full time worker. I'm used to not getting anything from government handouts. At least I'm not any worse off.

You're getting a tax cut. The tax free threshold goes from $6k to $18k so for example people earning $50k will pay $2,000+ less tax from July.

Sorry, let me rephrase that: I'm used to not getting anything that everyone else doesn't get as well. There's nothing special for me in any budget.

Not quite sure why I posted that now. I know I'm doing well and don't need any handouts to survive (didn't really need the first home owners grant, either, but I took it because it was there) but I know others do. I guess I'm just a bit sick of hearing about groups (like mining and solar power installers) complaining that they're hard done by when funding for a certain thing ends.

So I was at work today and I thought "man I hate this ****ing job, I'm going home"

So I left work (without telling anyone) and now I'm going to go see the Avengers and I'm also going to go for a long podcast walk and enjoy the sunlight because man it is a beautiful day today.
