Alien

Watched it before seeing Prometheus and it was as good as I remembered it to be. Worth watching if you want to make comparisons with Prometheus.

Prometheus

The plot seemed a bit muddled in parts and there didn't seem to know who the real enemy was.

I was thinking the same thing.

I assume it is so they could make it a trilogy and have it make some kind of sense once you have seen three films.

Did the albino guys make humans in order so they could infect them and breed the aliens?

Also the alien life cycle seemed to be a bit all over the place.

The Descendants -

Beauty of a film, great performance by Clooney.
I found it was a moving and rewarding experience.

A good read but some nonsense:
He talks about the goo not affecting David because of psychic emanations... it doesn't affect David because David has no flesh or DNA for it to react with.

The subtext I took from the film was that the Engineers are religious, and over tens of thousands of years a conflicting, militaristic belief rose and probably wiped out the benevolent engineers. The humans describe the base as a military installation and clearly the DNA-bombs stored in a room with murals and giant stone faces says religious whackos to me, just as it would if you walked into a mosque with rifles and bomb making equipment displayed everywhere.
