Default Oh man, I just can't choose between a PS3 and Xbox360 for Xmas so I've come here for

Christ knows what; probably a shit fight but no matter, my question will probably be answered.

I plan on getting the following games when I make my decision:

1. Oblivion/Bioshock combo.
2. Fallout 3 GOTY
3. Borderlands
4. DA: Origins

I don't multiplay but if I feel the need the extra expense of having to get a xbox wireless thingy won't be a big deal.

Don't plan on getting into blu-ray any time soon so that's not a issue either. I have no interest in exclusives so they're out too.

So it comes down to graphics/how it runs/loading times. So which of the above games run better on what system?

OK GO...

Can you opt for a pc graphics card instead? These games should all be played on pc, you'll get much better graphics and better frame rates. Getting a graphics card should allow you to hook it up to your lcd/plasma with ease too.

Yup, I have all those games on pc and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have to admit the only reason I'm playing my ps3 more then my 360 is because the online is free. It sounds like you don't care about the difference between the consoles and cbf'ed with online so I'd say 360 as you could get one cheaper then a ps3.

I'd lean towards the 360 also as it will be cheaper

12 months ago I would've said go with 360, hands-down. Not so much now. I think PS3's getting a stronger line-up of exclusive titles and seems to be AT LAST making up for lost time, dwindling in the 'third place'. And yeah, PSN's free, which is always a bonus.

The 360 is a the best option all round. the best controller. The best Online support and heaps better exclusives than sonys waste of money. Uncharted 2? Just play a friends copy. Its over in 10 hours and then what are you going to play? Get a 360.

If they are the only games you plan on playing then defiantly put the money into a new graphics card like some of the suggestions above but if you have to get a console and thats it then go for the 360. It will be cheaper. Those games all play very similar on each system. What one does the other cant and vise versa.

Here is a comparison for the console versions of Dragon Age

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/xb...e-off-round-23

Personally though i think that the PS3 offers more out of the box and has better exclusives that i want to play.

Based on your criteria (which people to be ignoring) I'd say the XBOX360 is a go. Generally multiplatform titles perform better on it, and if you opt to go online Live is a solid service that is well populated (as evidenced on these boards)

That's if upgrading your PC to run those games is out of the question.

I'd actually say that PS3 or 360 is a choice you should make. All of those games seem to run equally on both systems. If any games on whatever system HAS had bugs, they've long been fixed for those games.

Look at each library and see what future games you want to try or what current library titles you'd love to get a hold of.

Do you like both controllers equally? Because to me the 360 controller is much better. But that just comes down to personal preference. Multi platform games seem to, more often than not, run better on 360 too.
