Default Prometheus - SPOILERS

There has been enough discussion about this film to warrant a thread for it.

While it wasn't a terrible film there were a lot of questions left unanswered or not explained well. Also there was a lot of stupid people in the film who did stupid things for no reason but to move the plot forward.

Nice looking movie that was either poorly written or poorly edited, full of dumb moments that made no sense, and essentially got lost up it's own arse. It's a poor excuse for scifi, and completely lacks the tension that made Alien(s) so great. Why Ridley felt that the Alienverse suddenly needed all this world building escapes me.

It just had be a cool story. Instead it was shit.

Why was the Prometheus so advanced? The Nostromo ran on DOS.

Nostromo was a truck, with truckers on it, in space, hauling dirt. Prometheus was a specialised scientific / secret rich person transport with some of the rarest, top quality equipment on board.

So he felt the need to come back and tell the space jocky's story, and then finishes the movie with said space jocky not in the place they found him.

Hmmm.

Ridley Scott is only saying that because he obviously never watched Alien.

I don't think there were any questions left unanswered.

Pretty much this. Although I liked the penis monsters forcing themselves down people's throats. A nice metaphor for what Ridley Scott was trying to achieve.
