I’ve been developing envious eyes these past couple of weeks. Having completed God of War 3 on the back of a retro revisit to The Darkness, I was feeling well-fed on good gaming. It seemed crazy to think that Red Dead Redemption was just around the corner. Like many people, I had spend a good amount of time earlier on in this year becoming uncharacteristically excited about a cowboy era game, and at long last it was finally ready for the world to experience. more »

Taking a Gaming Day

Something that fascinates me is how we, as adult gamers, can sometimes exhibit a mindset that is more in line with that of a surly teenager who doesn’t want to go to school. Whereas in those days you’d try and chuck a sickie by faking a cold or perhaps going to the extreme of breaking a limb, these days taking a day off work because an anticipated game is coming out is a bit more questionable.
As the age of the average gamer punches through 30 and beyond, we find ourselves indentured by the many things life throws at us – wives, children and housework all take away from us precious moments that could be spent with the latest intereactive gem… more »
